Color proportions
The percentages automatically normalize to a complete system. Let the lightest surface create breathing room and reserve the strongest colors for emphasis.
Accessibility
Normal body text needs at least 4.5:1 contrast. Large text may use 3:1, but higher contrast is easier to read across more settings.
